Over 40 schools in Delhi, including DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar, received bomb threats on Monday morning, causing significant alarm. Students were promptly sent home, and authorities were notified to take action.

According to the reports of NDTV which got access to the copy of the email, said the threats were reportedly sent via email late Sunday night, with a timestamp of 11:38 PM. And it revealed chilling details, claiming multiple bombs had been strategically placed within the school premises.

“The bombs are small and concealed very effectively,” the email stated, further adding that while the damage to the buildings would be minimal, the explosions could inflict severe injuries on individuals. The sender demanded a ransom of $30,000 to deactivate the explosives, issuing a grim warning: “You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs,” the NDTV report stated.

Delhi Police has launched an investigation, tracing the sender’s IP address to identify the origin of the threat.

The scare unfolded amidst the usual morning activity of school buses arriving, parents dropping off children, and staff organizing assemblies. The Delhi Fire Department received its first alert from GD Goenka School at 6:15 AM, followed by another call from DPS RK Puram at 7:06 AM.

Police teams, accompanied by bomb squads, sniffer dogs, and fire personnel, immediately arrived at the schools to conduct thorough searches. So far, no suspicious objects have been discovered, officials confirmed.

This incident comes on the heels of a similar scare in October when an explosion near a CRPF school in Rohini’s Prashant Vihar caused property damage. The following day, schools received an email threatening further attacks, which was later determined to be a hoax.
